Journalist Membership at EAPJG

About Journalist Membership

Journalist membership is intended for individuals who are actively engaged in journalism and support the objectives and principles of the European Association of Pakistani Journalists Global (EAPJG) e.V.

According to § 3 of the EAPJG Satzung, journalist members are actively engaged in journalism and have voting and election rights within the framework of the Statutes.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants for journalist membership should demonstrate:

  • Active journalistic work in print, online media, television, radio, photojournalism or other journalistic fields.

  • Current or regular journalistic activity.

  • Professional experience or other appropriate evidence of journalistic work.

  • Acceptance of the EAPJG Satzung and applicable association regulations.

  • Support for the objectives of EAPJG and the principles of responsible journalism.

  • Willingness to comply with the association's professional standards and rules.

Journalist membership is subject to the admission criteria established by EAPJG. The detailed requirements for active journalists are published on the association's website.

Supporting Documents

Applicants may be asked to submit appropriate evidence of their journalistic activity, including:

  • A press card or comparable proof of journalistic work.

  • Employment or editorial confirmation.

  • Evidence of work for a media organization.

  • Published articles, reports, photographs, broadcasts or other journalistic work.

  • Links to a professional portfolio, publication archive or journalistic profile.

  • Other relevant evidence reasonably required to assess the application.

A press card alone does not guarantee admission. EAPJG may request additional information where necessary.

Application Procedure

Applications must be submitted in writing using the applicable EAPJG membership application procedure.

The Vorstand (Executive Board) reviews applications and decides on admission in accordance with § 3(2) of the Satzung and the applicable admission requirements.

Applicants will be informed of the admission decision. Payment alone does not establish membership.

Under § 4(5) of the Satzung, an appeal against a rejection may be submitted to the Mitgliederversammlung (General Assembly) within three months.

Membership Fees

First-year membership: €90

Annual renewal: €60

These amounts are subject to the applicable membership fee schedule duly established under §§ 6 and 14 of the Satzung.

Benefits and Participation

Subject to applicable EAPJG rules, journalist members may receive or participate in:

  • Membership documentation or a membership certificate.

  • An EAPJG press card, where approved and issued under the association's applicable rules.

  • EAPJG events, workshops, seminars and journalistic activities.

  • Professional networking and exchange with other journalists.

  • Opportunities to participate in relevant association projects and initiatives.

  • Information about the association's activities and developments.

Membership does not automatically guarantee employment, accreditation by third parties, access to restricted events or recognition by external media organizations.

Rights of Journalist Members

Under § 3(3)(a) of the Satzung, journalist members have voting and election rights.

Members also have the rights provided under § 5, including access to association information, participation in meetings and events, and involvement in association activities, subject to the Statutes and applicable rules.

Responsibilities

Journalist members are expected to:

  • Support the statutory objectives of EAPJG.

  • Comply with the Satzung and applicable association regulations.

  • Pay membership fees when due.

  • Provide accurate professional and contact information.

  • Respect the association's professional standards and legitimate interests.

  • Protect the reputation and integrity of EAPJG.

Termination of Membership

Membership may end through death, resignation, expulsion or the dissolution of a corporate member, where applicable.

Under § 4(2) of the Satzung, resignation must be submitted in writing with three months' notice to the end of the calendar year. Membership contributions already paid are not refunded upon ordinary resignation.

Under § 4(3), the Vorstand may exclude a member for a serious violation of the Satzung or the interests of the association.

The rules on advance payments for rejected applications are explained in the separate EAPJG Memberships and Payment Policies page.
