About Honorary Membership

Honorary membership is a special form of recognition within the European Association of Pakistani Journalists Global (EAPJG) e.V.

It recognizes individuals who have rendered special services to EAPJG or made an outstanding contribution to journalism, press freedom, media development or the objectives of the association.

Under § 3(3)(d) of the EAPJG Satzung, honorary members have participation and proposal rights but no voting rights.

Eligibility for Honorary Membership

Honorary membership may be considered for individuals who have, in particular:

• Made significant contributions to journalism or media development.

• Supported press freedom and responsible journalism.

• Made an exceptional contribution to EAPJG's establishment, development or statutory objectives.

• Contributed to professional cooperation among journalists.

• Supported initiatives consistent with the association's principles and objectives.

These considerations do not create an automatic entitlement to honorary membership.

Appointment Procedure

Honorary membership is a special recognition rather than an ordinary paid membership category.

Under § 14(c) of the Satzung, the Mitgliederversammlung is responsible for the appointment of honorary members.

Honorary membership is therefore granted through the applicable association decision and is not automatic upon submission of a request.

Membership Fee

Membership fee: €0

Under § 3(3)(d) of the Satzung, honorary members are exempt from membership fees.

Rights and Participation

Honorary members have the rights specified in the Satzung, including:

• Participation in association meetings, events and activities.

• The right to submit proposals and suggestions.

• Opportunities to contribute experience and expertise to relevant association initiatives.

• Participation in an advisory capacity, where appropriate.

Voting Rights

Honorary members do not have voting or election rights in the General Assembly.

Under § 3(3)(d), honorary members have participation and proposal rights but no voting rights.

Responsibilities

Honorary members are expected to:

• Respect the EAPJG Satzung and applicable association regulations.

• Support the objectives and principles of EAPJG.

• Uphold the reputation and integrity of the association.

• Contribute constructively to its activities where appropriate.

Recognition

EAPJG may recognize honorary members through association communications, publications or events, subject to appropriate consent, privacy requirements and applicable law.

Important Notice

Honorary membership is a recognition of service and contribution. It is distinct from journalist, supporting and corporate membership.

It does not automatically confer voting rights, election rights, a press card or the benefits associated with other membership categories.
